IDE Extensions

Discovery Accelerator — Starter and Full alike — runs inside VS Code through one extension: QuickCloud Discovery Accelerator (AI) (quickcloud.quickcloud-discovery-ai). There is no separate "Starter extension" or "Full extension." Your subscription determines which capabilities are unlocked; the install is identical either way.

Install

• VS Code — Marketplace listing, or use the Open in VS Code button on your portal access page once you're subscribed — it launches the install/connect flow directly.
• Eclipse / IntelliJ — not yet available. Only the VS Code extension is confirmed and published today; don't trust listings elsewhere claiming otherwise.

Connect it to your account

1. Subscribe to Starter or Full from the pricing page.
2. Sign in to your customer portal using the email from checkout — no separate account needed.
3. From Portal → My Access, click Open in VS Code. This mints a short-lived setup link and hands it to the extension — your API key is never pasted into a URL or typed by hand.
4. On first run, the extension shows a sign-in / subscribe prompt if it isn't yet connected. Following the setup link from the portal satisfies this automatically.

If the Open in VS Code button doesn't do anything, the extension likely isn't installed yet — install it first (above), then try the button again.

Starter vs Full in the extension

Same extension, same install, same sign-in. The only difference is which capabilities your account is entitled to — enforced server-side, not by which software you have installed:

Starter accounts see Assessment and Understand hidden in the pipeline UI. The server enforces this boundary — the badge is a convenience, not the security control — so requesting a Full-only capability from a Starter account returns an upgrade prompt rather than partial data.

Upgrading from Starter to Full

Upgrading is a subscription change, not a reinstall. You keep the same extension, the same sign-in, the same imported projects, and the same Discovery history — Assessment and Understand simply become available once your account's entitlement refreshes after the upgrade completes.

Troubleshooting

• "Extension not installed" / nothing happens when clicking Open in VS Code — install the extension from the Marketplace link above, then retry.
• "Setup link expired or invalid" — setup links are single-purpose and expire after 10 minutes for security. This is surfaced by the extension itself when it can't redeem the link — go back to Portal → My Access and click Open in VS Code again to get a fresh one. There's nothing to do on the website side beyond re-minting the link.
• "Not entitled" errors on Assessment/Understand — these are Full-only capabilities. See Upgrade to Full from your portal.
• API key revoked — this means your subscription lapsed or was cancelled. Resubscribe from the pricing page, or contact hello@quickcloud.co if that looks wrong.
• Portal or setup link unreachable — if the portal shows "Could not reach the server," it's a transient API issue — wait a moment and retry; contact hello@quickcloud.co if it persists.
